Welcome Message from the ACT18 Conference Chair

On behalf of the organizing committee, I am delighted to welcome you to the 18th Asian Conference on Transcription (ACT18), which will take place from December 14 to 17, 2025, at Chulabhorn Research Institute Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.
ACT was first held in 1990 through a collaboration of scientists from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, and India. All of the founding members had studied abroad and shared a common vision to build a strong scientific community within Asia. Their aim was to establish a high-quality platform for academic exchange and collaboration that could thrive in the region without relying solely on conferences in Europe or the United States.
Transcription is a fundamental process in gene expression, regulated by transcription factors, chromatin remodelers, epigenetic regulators, and non-coding RNAs. Its precise control is essential for development, cellular responses, and disease processes, including cancer and infections. Several transcriptional regulators have become therapeutic targets, bridging basic research and clinical application.
In line with the long-standing spirit of ACT, we place a strong emphasis on supporting the next generation of scientists. ACT18 will provide valuable opportunities for graduate students and early-career researchers to present their work, build international networks, and engage in scientific exchange in a welcoming and collaborative environment.
This marks the second time Thailand will host the ACT meeting, following the success of ACT8 in 2004. We are honored to bring the ACT community together again and look forward to welcoming you to Bangkok, a city rich in culture, hospitality, and scientific promise, for an inspiring and impactful meeting.
